Asus RT-AX88U

I have an AX88U and this is the single best WiFi experience I have ever had. Our house is about 1500sqft, and my current desk location (which is temporary) is probably at one of the farthest points in the house away from the Router. I pay for gigabit (it's Cable so only 940mbps) and I get *full speed* when at my desk, over WiFi, using a ASUS PCE-AC88 WiFi card.

I currently have two Asus RT-AC68U routers setup in a mesh (an option provided by Asus). Everything was great until about a year ago. We definitely noticed problems when we were all working / learning from home (four of us in the family), but even before that our house had a LOT of devices constantly connected (I was very surprised that we had issues since we never really did before and everyone was online in the afternoons and evenings, but I guess video calls maybe had a bigger impact than expected).

Purchased and received in October 2021. I have mixed feelings about this router. On the one hand, excellent hardware. No dropped connections over wifi along with consistent signal strength. So many settings /features in the firmware as well and with the quad-core CPU + 1GB of RAM this router is FAST...

Had this router for about a year, and although I don't use it any more, it was the best all in one router I've had.

When this router (Asus RT-AX88U AX6000) worked properly, it was amazing. While I do not currently (yet) have any Wifi 6 devices to connect to it, my Wifi 5 (AC) devices all benefitted from better speeds and stronger signal strengths. After much debate, I went with the Asus rt-ac86u and it was great - for 3 weeks. It managed my router vpn and IoT array well without any issues.
