Aug 24, 2020 · The Beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC is cheaper than a brand new Sony WH-1000XM4 or Sony WH-1000XM3 headset, but with that affordable price comes a big sacrifice in noise cancelling performance. Both Sony headphones can render low and midrange frequencies much quieter than the Lagoon ANC.

The Beyerdynamic Lagoon ANCs are, like virtually every one of their realistic competitors, an over-ear, closed-back design constructed almost entirely from high-quality plastic, aluminium and faux leather. Like most of their nominal rivals, they swivel and fold to be as portable as possible, and are supplied with a hard-ish carrying case. And like almost all of their opponents, they double down on their portability by weighing as little as possible – in this instance, a flyweight 283g. But as expected of a product from this brand at this sort of money, the Lagoon ANCs feel sturdy and built to last. The parts that are meant to move do so smoothly and quietly, and the parts that aren’t feel solid and secure. The plastics feel robust and are of obviously superior quality, while the faux leather of the earcups and headband is both comfortable and slow to warm. And unlike one or two rivals we could mention, when their headband setting is at its smallest the Lagoon ANCs are actually quite...

Rich, bright, balanced audio performance. Solid noise cancellation. Useful interior earcup status LEDs.

The Beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC wireless headphones have two separate models - the Traveller and the Explorer. However, the only difference between the two ‘models’ is the colour. So, they’re essentially two different colour variants with different names. The beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC Traveller is black in colour while the Explorer is brown and grey. We received the Beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC Explorer - the brown and grey variant - for the review. Upon unboxing the packaging, you’ll find a swanky looking hard case with the Beyerdynamic logo stamped right in the middle. The case has a shape that resembles a teardrop and looks quite unique. You don’t see too many wireless headphones deviating from the standard circular/oval-shaped hard case, and it’s nice to see Beyerdynamic taking some liberties to this end. When you unzip the seemingly robust case, a soft foam material is used for the interiors to keep the contents secure. Within the case, you’ll find the headphones themselves, a USB Type-C...

The design is appealing and elegant, without frills and of high quality. The ear cups rotate and fold for space-saving storage in the wedge-shaped case. They are padded with memory foam and covered with artificial leather, which feels pleasantly soft and comfortable, as does the adjustable headband. The result is a comfortable and secure fit, even for long listening sessions. At high temperatures, however, the ears do start to sweat. This Traveller version is completely black, while the technically identical Explorer version uses a colour combination of grey and brown. Technically, the Lagoon ANC scores highly with active noise cancelling, touch functions for control and sound personalisation. The manufacturer’s specifications for running time are also impressive: 45 hours without noise suppression and 24.5 hours with. In fact, there was no need to recharge the handset during the longer test period. There were also no complaints about the Bluetooth connection: Pairing takes place qu...

Sep 21, 2019 · The ANC effect on the Lagoon ANC could not reach the level of Bose or Sony, but beyerdynamic describes it as “relaxed silence”. For Bose and Sony, the silence might be too deafening for many. The ANC effect on the low frequency elimination is on par with Master & Dynamic MW65 except MW65 lets in a little more upper frequencies.

Beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC review Introduction . The Lagoon ANC is a set of headphones we’ve literally been waiting on for the longest time. It was first announced at IFA 2018, but was only officially released here in September because the audio engineers at Beyerdynamic wanted to tweak the audio profile based on the initial responses they got.

Apr 02, 2020 · The Beyerdynamic Lagoon ANC sits at a somewhat odd price point that is slightly below those of the top-tier models, but is still high enough to be considered premium. These headphones sound just as good, and in some cases even better, than those top-tier models, the only sacrifice you make is in the quality of the active noise cancellation.

Jul 02, 2019 · The right cup holds the power, ANC, and touch-based music controls. Michael Crider . The second failure ties into this: value. BeyerDynamic sets the retail price of the Lagoon at a whopping $500, or $399 if you’re buying directly from its store. You can get the best consumer-grade noise cancellation money can buy from Sony for about $300 ...
