Jul 15, 2021 ·  Despite its relative obscurity, we counted more than 100 products in Ezviz’s lineup – from home security cameras to NVRs, alarms, sensors, doorbells, and even smart air purifiers. All of this is impressive, yet we still aren’t quite sure how to pronounce “Ezviz.” 

The C1C harks back to the earliest Wi-Fi security cameras, with a disk-shaped head on a stand-mounted stem. It’s a compact 3.5 x 5 x 5 inches and easy to conceal among other household bric-a-brac, on a table or shelf. Its throwback design notwithstanding, it’s stocked with with all the de rigueur features of modern security cameras, including 1080p resolution, motion detection with activity zones, night vision, and two-way audio. It even offers a trio of storage options: You can record event-detected video locally to a microSD card (up to 256GB, card not included) or to an EZVIZ NVR (network video recorder, sold separately for $230). You can also store your video offsite—a great option for backing up potential video evidence of a crime—with an EZVIZ CloudPlay subscription. A seven-day storage plan costs $6 per month or $60 annually, and 30 days of storage goes for $11 monthly or $110 annually.

The EZVIZ DB1C Wi-Fi Video Doorbell has a pretty nice and somewhat sleek design. Rectangular in shape, it has rounded corners and is just over 5-inches high, about 1 3/4-inches wide, and just over 3/4-inches deep. It has three circles on it. The top circle houses the camera, and the bottom circle is the actual doorbell button. The microphone hole is beneath the camera assembly. The EZVIZ logo is printed between the middle and bottom circles. Finally, on the right edge of the unit is a slot for a microSD card. This has a cover that is screwed into place, protecting and securing the microSD card. Two angled mounting brackets are also included to help with proper installation and placement. Once installed on the appropriate bracket, the faceplate snaps on, and a security screw secures the main doorbell unit on the bottom of the doorbell. The EZVIZ DB1C also has an IP65 weather rating and is rated for temperatures between -22°F (-30°C) and 140°F (60°C), so it should be good for most env...
