A used work station like a lenovo thinkpad from the p range or a HP zbook no more than a few years old and get the best spec you can find.

HP has not made a lot of changes to the ZBook 15u G6. While we are a little disappointed by the hardware upgrade, the 4K screen is great.As the innovations are limited to the insides of the ZBook 15u G6, buyers will receive the usual high-quality case and very good input devices

I have a HP ZBook which is working super well for me. Has an ATI GPU. Haven't needed any hacks, all the hardware has worked trouble free. I upgraded to a 2 TB SSD, the marginal cost over smaller sizes was quite insignificant.

They offer superior build quality compared to a gaming laptop and the option of next-business-day on-site repairs for up to 5 years. There are plenty of options available in your price range like the Dell Latitude or Precision, Lenovo ThinkPad P-series, or HP Zbook. If you use live chat, you could probably get a salesperson to give you a bigger discount than what might be available by simply ordering from their website.

HP Zbook run well I use them with Autodesk inventor. If your are sub 500 parts at a time the. 32 Gn ram would work

Been using an hp zbook for about 2 years now for engineering using fusion 360 and inventor and have nothing but good things to say.

Unfortunately it has a number pad, completely useless. I rather have a keyboard centered with the screen instead.

I've got a HP ZBook 15 in 2014. I'm happy with it but it's only a data point. Did you service any of them, how do they compare?
