Aug 12, 2021 ·  JLab Go Air Pop review: Verdict Had you told me that JLab planned on launching even cheaper wireless earbuds that would deliver great functionality in a tinier package, I would have called BS.... 

The black Go Air earpieces have the JLab logo on the outside, and as far as exercise-focused models go, they feel rather small. That's impressive, because the fit is actually quite secure—typically, we see larger earpieces with fins and hooks, but these are small and fin-free. Internally, 8mm neodymium dynamic drivers deliver a frequency range of 20Hz-20kHz. The earphones are compatible with Bluetooth 5.0 and support AAC/SBC Bluetooth codecs. The outer panels of the earpieces have touch-sensitive controls, with the left ear handling volume down (single tap), track backward (press and hold for a second), and power (hold for three seconds). The right ear raises volume (single tap), controls playback (double tap), skips forward a track (press and hold for a second), handles call management, and can also be used to power down. Jan 14, 2021 ·  The Go Air itself is much smaller than the JBuds Air (20% lighter to be precise) and comes with three sizes of silicone ear tips so you can get a snug fit. We found them to fit very well in the ear, so you can play sports with ease, although it would be nice to add silicone fenders for an extra layer of safety.

The Go Air’s packaging is as compact as the buds themselves, encased in JLab’s standard shade of light blue. The box opens like a book, revealing a quick guide to the controls on the inside cover and the earbuds sitting beneath a plastic casing on the right. Aside from the buds and the case, JLab tosses in two extra pairs of gel cushion tips. There’s no separate charging cable here because the case has its own comically short cable built-in; it’s one that doesn’t lend itself to much else besides turning the case into an inconvenient dongle for whatever USB port it’s plugged into. There’s a pull tab on the charging case, which is something I haven’t seen since I activated the remote for my old car stereo. But getting connected with the Go Air is easy beyond that, with JLab even providing a roughly five-minute videoguiding you through the entire process. The connection of these buds has been a delightful surprise. It’s common practice to not expect much from cheap buds, but I haven’t... 

Sitting on top of the JBuds Air ANC’s driver channels are the earpieces; the manufacturer includes three pairs of these in different sizes (S, M, L) made of silicone gel and one made of adaptable foam (size M). A band around the housing fixes the earpiece in the ear and thus ensures hold – despite the smooth, hard plastic surface. The earpieces also have an indicator LED and two microphones. Weighing just five grams, the JBuds Air ANC are among the lightest headphones out there, and this is certainly noticeable when wearing them. Due to their size, they can be easily inserted into the ear canal, where they fit tightly, thanks to the appropriate ear tips and the fixing ring, effectively sealing the ear canal, which benefits their sound performance. This means that the earphones remain in position even during more vigorous head movements, for example, during sporting activities. In addition, the JBuds Air ANC are IP55-certified and therefore protected against sweat, dirt and splashes... 

The first thing you’ll notice about the JLab JBuds Air headphones is their design, and they’re nice-looking headphones. While they don’t look exactly like the JLab Epic Air headphones, they do have many of the same design sensibilities, and it’s clear they’re made from the same company. The earbuds themselves could be described as boring in design, but they’re also subtle, and that’s something we appreciate. Each earbud has a small JLab logo on its outside, and that logo doubles as a button. What that means is that it’s very easy to find the buttons thanks to their textured feel, which is always helpful. The buttons control things like volume and playback, and we found that while it was pretty easy to control the headphones, you will need to memorize which earbud controls what, and how many times you need to press it. However, they don't have multi-device or NFC pairing. Their latency is also very high for all devices, and won't be ideal if you like to watch videos or play video games.
