Is it just me or has Lenovo become "just another brand"?

The ThinkPad X1 Fold is pretty cool. Once they work out a few things in future revisions that could serve as an amazing little micro laptop that can also function as a tablet. Lenovo is trying to strike the balance between what MOST people want while still serving the small percentage of faithful like us. I think they are doing about as well as anyone could ask.

Verdict - The X1 Fold isn't fun to use

In practice, the X1 Fold is simply not fun to use, and there are too many problems to justify the high purchase price.It's not uncommon for a completely new device to have teething problems, but with the X1 Fold, problems predominate, and it simply can't provide a good user experience.

Love the X1 Fold but its software is atrocious.

I'm on my second week of ownership and I love this X1 Fold. Got it in preparation of post-pandemic travel and having more utility than a tablet and not having to carry a full-size laptop for remote sys admin work. I don't have the touchscreen issues you do - but I'm also not using it primarily as a tablet. Reminds me of my old Toshiba Libretto!.

Verdict - The X1 Fold isn't fun to use

Most reviews for the X1 Fold mention the keyboard is kinda cramped. Edit: I'd also hop onto this if it was less expensive (which would happen as foldable displays become more common) and if windows became more optimized for this kinda form factor too (also something that I'm guessing will happen in time and with the release of Windows 11).

Yes, and that's my favorite part of the X1 Fold so far. The thin keyboard is the perfect size to fit over the bottom half of the screen when it's folded into a clamshell shape. In fact, the keyboard attaches via magnets and inductively charges itself when sitting on top of the screen

The perfect concept with average execution

Overall I do not recommend this product for the average person. As a first generation novelty, it is wonderful, but there are so many quality of life fixes that need to be done before I can recommend it.
