Oct 16, 2020 ·  Two-minute review. When the MSI Alpha 15 launched in early 2020 it represented a big move for the company away from the tried-and-tested Intel platform and towards its archrival AMD. Since then we have seen AMD proving itself in the mid-range gaming arena, both with its efficient Ryzen CPUs and its gamer-grade Radeon graphics chips. 

The MSI Alpha 15, as mentioned above, is a part of the new MSI Alpha series, which sports the new logo. The design is still pretty familiar for a MSI laptop though with racing car-esque lines. It’s also worth noting that this is the only aluminium you will find on the MSI Alpha 15, with the rest of the build being made of plastic.

The hinge of the laptop also feels solid and it's complemented with a few red accents at the back along with the heat vents. The laptop is not overly heavy, nor is it gigantic in size. It's the kind of compact notebook that I'd happily recommend. On the inside, you'll see a gorgeous keyboard courtesy of the folks over at Steelseries. The display also has minimal bezels on three sides, so there's not much to complain about. The keyboard layout is made out of plastic, but I'd like to point out that it feels just as premium as a high-end notebook with a chassis made out of a different material.
