You’ll get top-of-the-line performance for about $100 less than the other base model flagships. That in itself is a great reason to consider the OnePlus 9

Overall, the OnePlus 9 offers a strong package. If you're looking for a premium smartphone, there's no getting around the OnePlus 9 at the moment.

Exynos 2100 and SD888 are both powerful and power-hungry chips. OnePlus 9 is probably going to be nice but OP is struggling to manage their existing product updates so I'm not sure if this is going to get better soon or not.

The OnePlus 9 delivers flagship performance and an excellent wide-angle camera, with fast charging and virtually no bloatware.

Based on what you wrote, it sounds like the Oneplus 9 is a great option. Excellent performance, great camera, and the other reasons you mentioned.

In short, it's a superb do-it-all phone that won't break the bank.

OnePlus hasn't really impressed me with their hardware choices, prices, or business priorities in the past year or so, so I don't think I want to get a OnePlus 9. The Galaxy S21 (base edition) seems like the best phone on the market for me right now (great cameras with the right decisions made about what cameras to include, good screen but not gigantic, well supported, relatively cheap), with the only real argument for OnePlus being that I really like their software.
