If you have an older version that you’re using, I would suggest sticking with it unless it’s so old that you need features in this version that you do not have.  I’ll be going back to my previous version of Pinnacle Studio. It was easier on the system and it worked just fine

 It does a good job of allowing you to story board your video productions, add pictures and clips, add audio tracks, transition effects and more. It produces fine results that play back smoothly without stutters or skips. That’s the most important thing, of course, and for this reason I can’t totally write this software off. If you have an older version that you’re using, I would suggest sticking with it unless it’s so old that you need features in this version that you do not have

More Resource Hungry than Previous Versions

 I have also used Corel's Video Studio, which is a bit easier to use than Pinnacle Studio, also owned by Corel.  In spite of including all of the bells and whistles like multi-camera capabilities, more than 2,000 filters and effects, split screen video capabilities, and 306 degree, wide angle lens video editing potential users need to realize that no matter what, you are going to spend time learning your way around this program - even if you have edited video before.  I installed this package on a brand new Dell Inspirion Laptop, 2 GB HD, Windows 10 Professional, 16 GB RAM, 64 bit, etc. - it would be an understatement to say that this program installs the slowest of any package I have ever installed on any machine

I am no stranger to non-linear editing programs. I have used everything from FinalCut Pro to Adobe Premiere, Sony and other packages. I have also used Corel's Video Studio, which is a bit easier to use than Pinnacle Studio, also owned by Corel.  In spite of including all of the bells and whistles like multi-camera capabilities, more than 2,000 filters and effects, split screen video capabilities, and 306 degree, wide angle lens video editing potential users need to realize that no matter what, you are going to spend time learning your way around this program - even if you have edited video before

  Once I did disable the antivirus, the fourth attempt to install worked.  There is definitely a bit of a learning curve. The things you think should be intuitive in other video editing programs isn't on this one. It tends to hang on imports, and I had a few times when it crashed

 It was far faster installing Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 Master Collection with multiple disks than it was to install Pinnacle - and I found I had to redo it three times because there was no recommendation to disable any antivirus program running.  Once I did disable the antivirus, the fourth attempt to install worked.  There is definitely a bit of a learning curve

Definitely not the easiest non-linear editing program on the market

I been with Pinnacle since I started video editing back in 2010 with Pinnacle 14, and I have always said that Pinnacle should be the #1 choice for beginners. it's cheap, easy to use but loaded with advance features and at times I feel like I'm using a high-end Editing Software. My only gripes are, at times it can feel a little buggy/laggy but there is no Editing Software that is immune to that.

Looks Clean & Easy to Use!

This software was working good the last time I used it. I had automatic updates on so I'm sure what happened. I just used it again and the software kept erroring out when adding photo's, applying transitions or panning or zooming on photos. I hope this is not the case of the software developer pushing a bad update to get the user to purchase their next version of software

Errors when using

Bought it mainly for cutting and combining and working with different formats. Found out that the UI is pretty convenient and easy to understand. Major issues are webm format is not supported and program crashes or hangs up 2.

major features are not there

Software is difficult to use and the user manual is mostly just a 'this is what you can do' manual.

 I think it's more usable than the FOSS options out there, and probably just as useful as Premiere to the casual user. In particular, the chroma key (aka green screen) functionality stands out on this front - it's functional, but does not require much effort to get it working properly.  A few things that I liked were the lens correction, motion tracking, and multi-camera editing. The lens correction, while not something that I think would have been important in the past, has relevance now considering how much video content is generated with cell phone cameras

  Finally, the multi-camera editing is an interesting feature. With non-linear editing, it's ALWAYS been possible to lay down multiple camera feeds and edit them together. It's usually a matter of sync'ing the 'clacker' or reading the TBC signatures, but the software may not be aware that the streams are related. If you wanted the following progression: camera 1, camera 2, camera 1, you may have to (depending on the software), insert clip 1, clip 2, and clip 1 again - trimming all three

 You should definitely consider this product for your video editing projects. Recommended.

Good alternative to FOSS offerings, Sony, and even.... Premiere (see below).  Recommended
