The TrueConnect 2 earphones are available in a stylish matte black or blue design, with stem-style earpieces that fit securely. To ensure fit stability, you get seven total pairs of silicone eartips in various sizes—about twice as many as we typically see included. Internally, 6mm drivers deliver a frequency range of 20Hz-20khz. The charging case is shaped like a tiny, old-school mailbox, with a cover that slides away to reveal the cradle for the earpieces. It might be tiny by mailbox standards, but it makes for a bulkier-than-usual case. On the front face, LEDs display how much charge the case has, and the included USB-C cable connects to the rear panel for charging. In addition to water resistance, RHA adds dust resistance this time around, for an IP55rating. This rating is middle-of-the road as far as water resistance goes—light rain, damp cloths to clean the earpieces, and sweat should all be fine, but don’t expose them to real water pressure or submerge them in water. Especially in the case of true wireless earbuds, it’s become standard to keep things simple when it comes to packaging. Staying true to that tradition, there aren’t any surprises with the TrueConnect 2. Inside the box you’ll find the earbuds and their charging case, a USB-C charging cable, and several pairs of ear tips secured in a stainless-steel ear tip holder. There’s no app to download with the TrueConnect 2, meaning all you need to get up and running is a mobile device with Bluetooth functionality. These buds have Bluetooth 5 connectivity, and after over a week of using these buds, I still haven’t had a single connection issue to speak of. If you’re after buds that just work, in the same vein as Apple’s AirPods, these fit that bill well.

The RHA TrueConnect 2 earbuds will set you back £130. That RHA has managed to shave £20 off the list price of the original TrueConnect earbuds is no mean feat: the TrueConnect 2 are better protected against the elements; they now sport touch-sensitive controls on each bud; they boast an improved battery life and they sound better. More specifically, the TrueConnect 2 are IP55-rated, meaning they are sealed tight against both dust and heavy rain (just don’t take them for a swim). The buds themselves will last nine hours on a single charge and slotting them into their rather swish charging case will net you a further 35 hours of playback. Battery life was already pretty good, at 25 hours total – now, at 44 hours, it’s exceptional. It is worth noting that these are relatively basic earbuds, with no active noise cancellation or ambient noise mode. If you want a pair with these features, you’ll have to spend a fair amount more, and the overall battery life will take a hit as a consequenc...

The RHA TrueConnect 2 features one of the best looking designs I have seen as far as earbuds are concerned. It comes in a premium looking charging case which has a swivel opening mechanism with an aluminum frame.

The competition has improved massively and there are a few disappointments from the TrueConnect 2, like the audible hiss and lack of multipoint pairing.
