Sennheiser has decided not to drastically overhaul the aesthetics, with the Momentum 3 Wireless design still revolving around oval-shaped earcups, sheepskin leather earpads and stainless steel sliders. Currently, the Sennheisers are only available in the all-black guise of our review sample. 

There are only a few truly wireless earphones worth buying right now and Sennheiser's Momentum True Wireless are one of them. At $300 (£279, AU$499), they're more expensive than Apple AirPods ... 

This is by no means a matter of course. Sennheiser lay the foundations for good sound from the start. Accordingly, cable operation should not be regarded as an emergency mode in the event of a flat battery, but as a completely legitimate alternative to wireless. The Momentum 3 Wireless also functions as a USB audio output device. 

The Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 3 comes with noise cancellation and there are three modes here. The Momentum Wireless 3 has a neutral audio profile, which stays true to what you would experience in a natural surrounding. There is no overpowering bass, no notes that are too sharp.

The Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 3 headphones offer a similar design to its predecessors — but it’s not exactly the same. The headphones are built with a sturdy-looking metal frame, some plastic on the ear cups, and leather in the headband and on the ear cushions. Safe to say, they’re definitely sturdy headphones — and they should be able to withstand most abuse that you can throw at them. On the right ear cup is where you’ll get the majority of controls and buttons. You’ll get normal playback controls, along with a switch to turn on noise cancellation, and even a button to control your preferred digital assistant. Then, you’ll get a USB-C charging port, and an aux port. The headphones have some cool features built into them too. Notably, when you take the headphones off of your head, content will automatically pause — and when you put them back on, it’ll start again. It’s a cool touch.
