Seiken Densetsu 3 is the name of the original game (since it was never released or officially localized outside of Japan until the relatively recent Collection of Mana collection that preceded the remake), and I and many others first experienced it on an emulator with a widely-distributed fan patch.

Trials of Mana is a visually impressive game with fun combat and engaging characters. It's a game I would definitely recommend to fans of the series or any JRPG fans out there as it's a solid remake that offers players a better way to play the original game.

Last summer I was quick to pick up The Collection of Mana and play through the original Trials of Mana and I loved it.
