The S6 8200 Pro is a very well engineered product. As a conclusion I really recommend this drive and I personally got the second one for the mini ITX PCI build on the AM4 platform

Alright guys, I have tested the drive speeds in Crystal Disk Mark and also in Blackmagic Disk Speed Test for a more real-life scenario of video editors. I have also compared it to a standard SSD, the Toshiba OCZ TR150 series which is a fast drive and the ADATA speeds are in another league, as expected

As you can see idle temps are excellent and while stressed out the drive does get hot but please take into consideration that the test is done in a mini ITX case.  This M2 NVMe SSD is one of the fastest you could buy, being as fast as a Samsung 970

 Pro but at a much lower price, approximately $100 less than a Samsung Pro.

 The drive offers incredible performance.

 It has 3D NAND flash which is known for efficiency and reliability and it's also known for higher

 It also has SLC caching and it's also backed by a 5-year warranty.

 SLC caching single level cell means that it stores only 1 data bit per NAND flash cell

 which leads to faster transfer speeds, higher cell endurance and a lower power consumption.

  Plus, my experience with their RMA process hasn't given me any additional confidence. RMA processes are notoriously painful, but ADATA's website, at the time of writing, is basically non-functional for RMA's. I started multiple cases and got case numbers, but never got an e-mail about them, nor would they show up in their buried lookup tool. I eventually called their US number, at which some clueless dude thought that my e-mail alias for the RMA with "adata" in it constituted some sort of trademark infringement (it doesn't; that's not how that works!), but did actually send the paperwork over

couldn't reboot. The BIOS warned of a faulty disk, but I couldn't believe it--I hadn't come anywhere near its TBW or the warranty period! Once I accepted that the BIOS was right, I started an RMA with ADATA and bought a replacement to tide me over in the meantime--who knows how long the RMA will take!  Now, why didn't I get a different brand, knowing about ADATA's recent shadyness, you may ask? Well, like I said--the competition at this capacity is a good 20% more expensive, at least! Even more so for the Samsung 970 Evo/ Evo Plus! Also, the read speeds aren't affected by the different controller, at least not enough for my gaming needs, so despite everything, it STILL wins.  Now, is that still the case at today's prices? I'm not so sure--~$100 for 1TiB is a great deal, but I think I'd opt for 512GiB at today's prices, in which case the competition isn't too far out of reach. 20-30% translates to $10-20, instead of $30-40

Reads as advertised, Writes not. Terrible CS. Still a great option for gaming, though

 If I had data on there, it would be lost. So, this drive has proven less than reliable after only a few days of usage. One more bug and this is going back.

 They get replaced because you just need more storage space. XPG does not have such a great reputation in this respect. If you are provisioning your main computer drive (boot/Windows), paying a premium for Samsung is worth it in every case. XPG SX8200 is better suited for temporary/unimportant fast storage needs, such as games, media scratch, program scratch, etc

 I had to wipe and start again. Worked OK for a day, and then the entire partition disappeared on its own. If I had data on there, it would be lost. So, this drive has proven less than reliable after only a few days of usage

Almost Samsung EVO970

 If I could have the new drive plus $100 in my pocket, I'll take the $100 in my pocket. Exactly. $100. I like money

 So they slowed it down. They got their costs down, but now it's not only still one of the best drives available, not quite as good as it was, but it's still one of the best drives available, but for a way cheaper price. It's kind of like you want to take a 10% hit for a 50% price drop. Now, the complaint, and it's fair, is people aren't necessarily given the choice because they aren't told about this

 I'm not bothered by it. So, no. I like the new price. If you've got one, you don't need to send it back

 How fast is that? Ooh, look at these. Hang on. Wee! And you have one of the new drives. Yeah

 And you Aussies know what I mean. But in this case, it's a big ado about nothing. I like the new price. I think people are more kerfluffled that they did it and didn't say anything

ADATA changed the controller on the SX8200 Pro SSD — Is It A Big Deal?

 So Tech, what is the kerfluffle about the ADATA SX8200 and the change in their controller?

 ADATA made a change to their SX8200 Pro, which on one hand, shame on them for doing it without announcing it,

 because what happens is companies will send out a product in one configuration, and lots of companies are guilty of doing this.

 Kingston has done this, other companies have done this. They'll send out a product in a super optimized, great, wonderful configuration.

 Reviewers will get their hands on it, they'll publish reviews, people will use it, you know, they'll get five stars on Amazon,

 everybody will be excited, and then they'll go and they'll make a change that will cut their cost of making it,

 but will hurt its endurance or reliability or performance or something.
