Previously in this MEATER review, we mentioned that you can use this thermometer in pans, slow cookers, ovens, smokers, rotisseries, kamados, and all kinds of grills, provided that the temperatures do not exceed the abovementioned recommendations. Based on its heat tolerance and communication range, MEATER is best suited for oven roasting. 

That said, I started testing the Meater and it worked pretty well! I made thick pork chops and they came off the grill with that perfect pinkness in the center.

But there is an Alexa Skill for Meater too, which allows you to ask the voice assistant to tell you how your meat is cooking from how much long you need to leave something in the oven, to what the ambient temperature is as well. I find this less useful than the smartphone app.
