Our model is a mid-tier configuration, with the Intel Core i5-1035G4 processor, 8 GB of LPDDR4x RAM and a 512 GB PCIe SSD, well suited for an everyday ultrabook and portable school/work laptop. Higher tier configurations get the Core i7-1065G7 processor with the faster Iris Pro G7 graphics and 16 GB of RAM, and there’s also the option for the Nvidia MX350 dGPU, most likely a direct followup of the MX250 implemented on current ultraportables. I wouldn’t pair that with an IceLake i7 configuration, as it would negate the improved iGPU in the 10nm Intel hardware.

Certainly we've all heard of laptops featuring mobile internet connectivity in the past. It's not uncommon to see a SIM card slot on the sides of a Lenovo ThinkPad, Dell Latitude, or any other high-end enterprise-grade laptop line. However, we seldom see them crop up in India. If you need more ports, Acer includes a dongle in the box with a Type-C port, USB 3.1 and an HDMI output. With its 1.3GHz Intel Core i7-7Y75 CPU, 8GB of RAM. There’s a dearth of ports on the Swift 7. To be fair, there just isn’t much room for them. and 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD, this Swift isn’t exactly a high-power machine. 

While the Acer Swift 3 came in around the middle of the pack with a 462.7 Mbps transfer rate, the top scorer here was the XPS 13 with its 636.2 Mbps transfer rate.

So, the Acer comes equipped with a fantastic Intel Core i5-1135G7 processor, capable of clock speeds of up to 4.2 GHz, with an 8-megabyte cache and a typical thermal design power of just 15 Watts. According to benchmark tests and real life scenarios I’ve tested this CPU in, it’s really not that far away in terms of performance from Intel’s i7-1165G7 that’s built into the much more expensive ASUS Zenbook Flip 13I reviewed recently. System memory is rated at 8 gigabytes of DDR4 SDRAM. This amount will only get you so far in terms of how well the Acer will perform over long periods of time. Programs will inevitably evolve to use more and more resources and in a couple of years it may start to feel sluggish. However, the Acer Aspire 5 A515-56-50RS is a user-friendly device with upgradeable memory. Total allowed capacity is 20 gigabytes, but you’ll probably only ever need 16 (2 x 8GB RAM sticks).
