Be proud of yourself! This is very well done, story line, the shots are nice. Even the DJI Osmo puch made an appearance. ;) Hehe. Seriously - well done! I have just won my first award for the short film i did! I have filmed it with my cheap phone camera and i have won a real camera, i can't express enough how amazing i feel!!

The promise of DJI’s Osmo Pocket handheld video camera isn’t about giving you the same raw video or audio quality that you would get when recording with a DSLR and an external mic. Instead, this is a camera that prioritizes a simple, compact form factor to help you look much more skillful with a camera than you actually are. 

If you want more immediate access to the camera’s advanced functionality, attaching it to a smartphone is a great way to achieve that. The only problem is that this turns the Osmo Pocket from a device that can comfortably be used with one hand into something that feels like it needs two hands to operate properly. For me, this trade-off doesn’t make sense.

Considering how geared the Osmo Pocket is toward the vlogging genre, it’s fair to expect better sound quality from it than a typical tiny video camera. DJI sells a small USB-C to microphone jack converter for the camera, and there are also mics available that connect directly over USB-C. You’ll want to verify that third-party accessories work before buying one for yourself. If you intend to do any serious vlogging with the Osmo Pocket, I’d seriously think about picking up an external mic to use with the camera

DJI’s Osmo Pocket does a great job of delivering on the capabilities of its form factor. It’s compact, easy to use, and I liked the quality of the video footage it produced (even if its audio falls short of its aspirations as a vlogging camera). But it’s a harder camera to recommend than other portable solutions for shooting video because of its price and lack of versatility. It’s not as rugged as an action cam, and it’s not as cheap as a standalone gimbal for your existing smartphone

Certainly I can't get anything approaching the videos I see on YouTube (which I'm starting to suspect are from shills.)

I'm leaning towards returning it and getting a DJI Pocket.

Also I noticed popping in the audio during the first few minutes of recording.

Is my HERO9 defective, or is it just unusable at night without a gimbal?

  The quality is good when there’s lighting. I can tell you that the low light clips that they show are not with the camera on auto as I’ve tried several in actually more light and they were grainy. I have not as of yet attempted while in manual.  The audio quality was a huge concern of mine, but after watching some videos on YouTube about the firmware update improving it I convinced myself that it couldn’t be worse than the phone mic, especially given that there are two

 Small, but it does feel good/solid in your hand.  The built in screen is a bit small, you can see what the camera is viewing, but you can’t see if it’s focused or what the exposure is. For that you need to connect to a phone.  Speaking of which, the lightning adapter would not work with my phone while the case was on

I'll be using it mostly for landscape photography and maybe a bit of video, and I plan on getting a 18-135mm lens at some point.


Right now, I'm leaning towards the SL2 since I can get one for around US$400 where I live, but I want to see if there's anything else I should know or consider before pulling the trigger.

SL2 or T7i

 However the footage was choppy and out of sync with the audio. Then, this is the biggest deal breaker-all of the footages were blurry unusable! Reading on the forum, this is a known issue with this thing even after the firmware update which I just had mine updated when I first just got the device activated. DJI should not have rushed this product to consumers just to catch the wind of the holiday shopping season. What a let down!

 Make sure your computer is powerful enough to handle 4k video files. I first uploaded the footage to my old iMac (2009 model) and it was struggling to playback the footage. Then, I found out by accident when I uploaded to my MacBook Pro with more powerful intel core, it played smoothly. Overall, Given the form factor and convenience, this device has a lot of potential in term of what it can or cannot do

My grandad likes to film during family events, but due to his parkinson getting worse he cannot hold the camera stable anymore. He uses a panasonic hdc-sd700 I am looking to give him a gimball or another sort of stabilizer so he can film again. What gimball or other stabilizer can I give him that is under 200 dollars?

A good gimball for someone with parkinson

 This DJI Osmo Pocket, however, has a completely different feel.  It's very small, with the body fitting delicately inside a female hand. I'm not sure if someone with really large hands might be uncomfortable holding it. It's very lightweight and could easily fit into a pocket or any bag for easy portability - which is a pretty good selling point

 If the option exists, I didn't find it.  The DJI Osmo Pocket feels like a neat little toy that would be fun and easy to carry on outings or vacations, but I'm still not sure that it is the right tool for my needs.

I got this in the mail today to try out and here are my first impressions:  I previously tried out the DJI OM 4, which was nice but lacked a desired range of motion that I wanted and also acted like it knew better what shot angles I wanted -- which wound up messing up my lovely travelling shots. I also didn't care for DJI OM 4's tilt/pan control button. This DJI Osmo Pocket, however, has a completely different feel.  It's very small, with the body fitting delicately inside a female hand

 Attaching a smartphone to the side makes the device feel awkward, lopsided, and a bit unwieldy. Lastly, I didn't find an option to shoot portrait photos, which is odd considering that this device allows you to record both photos and video. If the option exists, I didn't find it.  The DJI Osmo Pocket feels like a neat little toy that would be fun and easy to carry on outings or vacations, but I'm still not sure that it is the right tool for my needs

I love my GoPro for rough outdoor use or for underwater work, but for stuff like city trips, I MUCH prefer the Osmo Pocket (2).

I'm gonna travel trough Europe as an exchange student next year and I'm considering on **buying the GoPro Hero 9 Black** because it's not as expensive and bulky as a DSLR camera and my phone (P30) already takes good pics. But Gopro seems to have an excellent quality, specially on video and I want to make a travel video when I come back (just for my memories and social media, nothing pro). 

The thing is, I'm **travelling on a budget**, so I most surely won't be able to pay all those expensive activities which go pro seems to have been made for (skiing, scuba diving, paragliding, climbing, etc.). So, my question is: if I'm gonna be **mainly sightseeing through different cities**, buildings, museums, maybe some nice landscapes in Switzerland/Austris etc, **is the gopro 9 a good use of my money?**  


P.S. It is my first time in Europe, I'm gonna be by myself mostly staying in hostels and moving by train.
