Acer is offering both Intel and AMD options with the Nitro 5. The AMD model starts at $600 USD, and for that you get a Ryzen 5 CPU and a GTX 1650. There is also a GTX 1650 Ti model, but that goes for about $1,000 USD and honestly that’s a poor value for gamers in my opinion considering what else is out there. The Intel flavour starts at $650 USD, and for that you get a quad-core 10th genCore i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, a 256GB NVMe drive, and a GTX 1650. The sample that we have in hand that comes with a 9th gen 6-core/12-thread Core i7-9750H processor, 16GB of RAM, the same amount of storage – which really isn’t that much at a time when games are starting to eat up at least 150 GB – a 1080P 144Hz IPS-like display, and an RTX 2060 for about $1,050 USD. Much like the previous generations, this 2020 Nitro 5 is entirely made out of plastic. It doesn’t feel cheap, but it’s also not as nice as the metallic Acer Predator options, starting with the Nitro 7. I appreciate that Acer ditched the faux carbon-fiber patterns and red accents on the lid used on some of their previous Nitros, as well as the fact that they implement muted Acer branding elements on this generation. However, those black smooth surfaces are incredibly prone to showing fingerprints and smudges, both on the lid and on the arm-rest, and you’ll constantly have to rub this laptop clean if you care about these aspects. Despite the all-plastic build, this Nitro 5 feels sturdy, with a strong screen and little flex in the lid or keyboard deck. It’s also fairly compact and lightweight, at a little over 5 lbs in this variant. As far as the practical aspects go, I will complain about a few details, such as the fact that the status LEDs are annoyingly placed just beneath the scree...

The Acer Nitro 5 has never been a bad looking notebook of a thing. While they are not the most svelte looking stuff, they are not bad lookers. The previous Nitro 5 has a faux carbon fibre treatment on the top of the case, which could be a thing for some people. We also understand that it may not be for everyone. We do quite like the overall design of the Acer Nitro 5 in general though. They retain mostly the same shape since the first generation of the Nitro 5 a few years ago. You get the angular mouth that is reminiscent of Predator’s famous curves these days. You also get plenty of space for cooling purposes while maintaining a Plain Jane look. The new one still retains the general shape and thickness of the older one. You lose the carbon fibre design from the old one though. Instead, you get some power lines that folds inward on the top of the clam. It mimics the lines that you get from the Helios line-up of the Predator family. They are, after all, cousins. For starters, here are the specs from our review unit that Acer gave us: Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-44-R1AZ) 1. CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 4800H 2. GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR6 3. RAM: 8GB DDR4 3200MHZ 4. Display: 15.6″ FHD (1920×1080) ComfyView IPS 144Hz As mention, it’s metallic feels give out a premium look which is nice to hold and some red accents across the laptop (and even on the LED keyboards) make it more alluring in nature and also help disperse out the heat. The keyboard feels quite nice to touch even in more intense sessions with the machine, not that squishy but excellent to the touch. Though my only gripe is that it’s dedicated Nitro button is close to the backspace button and some instants of mispress have occurred in my time with it. The 2019 MSI GS75 Stealth is pretty much the same design as last year. I never reviewed that one, so I’m going to go into more detail this time. Firstly, I’d like to say that the overall design certainly feels portable. It’s thin, symmetric, lightweight and balanced. Carrying it around was easy and at no point did I ever feel like I was carrying around a 17” laptop. The entire casing is made of an anodized aluminum alloy, black in color and with a matte finish. Unfortunately, that means it’s a fingerprint magnet, as it didn’t take long to start seeing oily residue on the usual spots. It’s not much different than I saw with the GS65 really. It’s not a unibody design, but rather has top and bottom panels that are screwed together onto a plastic inner chassis. It’s probably what keeps the weight down, but it also comes at a cost of sturdiness. Now, it’s certainly not as bad as I saw on the 2018 GS65, as that unit creaked pretty much every time I picked it up. This laptop doesn’t creak...

The MSI GS75 Stealth-248 comes equipped with a state of the art, 9th Generation Intel Core i7-9750H processor. This six-core powerhouse features 12 threads, 12 megabytes of cache size, a base frequency of 2.6 GHz that goes up to 4.5 GHz in turbo mode. It does consume a considerable amount of power, namely 45 Watts, but it’s understandable and completely normal, considering how powerful it is. Cpubenchmark.net rates the 9750H at 13700 points, which essentially means that any game you can think of will be playable. Also, you can throw just about any task at it and it’ll complete it without any hiccups whatsoever. Exceptional would be an understatement. With nearly identical real-world performance as the slightly more expensive Asus ROG Zephyrus S, the GS75 is a great option if you're looking for an RTX 2080 laptop. 

MSI GS75 Stealth Review – Conclusion The design of the MSI GS75 Stealth is amazing and incorporates an incredible amount of power into a 0.7-inch slim chassis. I am also impressed by the fact that the GS75 Stealth’s display is so much better than its predecessor and that these vivid images are accompanied by quality sound.
