In many respects it's a more compact mirrorless variant of the EOS 90D DSLR that was announced simultaneously. In fact, the 50MP Hasselblad equals the 61.2MP Sony A7R IV at lower sensitivities and actually beats the Sony at higher sensitivities, due to the X1D II's better noise handling at high ISOs.
